Landis+Gyr sign agreement with Jyväskylän Energia to automate their dis-trict heat metering
Metering automation will ensure that the billing of district heat will depend on actual energy usage. The invoice will contain real time feedback that will help consumers improve their energy efficiency and reduce their energy consumption.
”Thanks to a smoother metering and billing processes, the solution will bring us cost savings. The system will support customer service and enable optimisation of heat production and network control,” says Marjukka Nuutinen, District Heat Director, Jyväskylän Energia.
In accordance with the ten year agreement, Landis+Gyr will deliver consumption data from all district heat customers for up to 4,000 metering points in Jyväskylän Energia’s heat distribution network.
”The deciding factors in selecting the supplier were the total cost of the offered remote reading system and the quality of service as well as Landis+Gyr’s technical and financial resources and experience in similar projects,” comments Nuutinen.
The deal also includes the project installation as well as the required metering and communication equipment. The consumption data will be transferred from the district heat meters via the M-Bus interface to the GPRS multi energy communication unit and forwarded to the AMM system. The transition to the new technology will be carried out in stages within two years.
