Landis+Gyr Announces AMI Contract with Kerrville Public Utility Board

Utility plans system upgrade with multi-purpose smart grid network

ATLANTA, GA. – Feb. 8, 2018 – Landis+Gyr (LAND.SW) has been selected by Kerrville Public Utility Board to provide advanced metering infrastructure technology for the utility’s grid modernization program.

KPUB will install Landis+Gyr’s RF Mesh network infrastructure and advanced electric meters for the utility’s nearly 23,000 residential and commercial customers. The system will have capacity to accommodate any future needs for the City of Kerrville to support automation of 10,000 water meters.

“This is one of the few projects, in my opinion, that this utility can pursue that meets all of our core business goals for operational efficiency, reliability and customer service,” said Tommy Nylec, Chief Engineer at KPUB.

Landis+Gyr’s multi-purpose RF mesh network provides a standards-based, IPv6-capable communications platform for advanced metering, intelligent sensors and distribution devices.
